Trip to Leinster House

Last week our class went on a trip to Leinster House which is where  all the important decisions of the country are made by the government. We were given a special guided tour by a nice usher called Padraig, he told us how Michael Collins bought the house for 10000 euro. We got to visit the Dail chamber and the beautiful Seanad room. We were hoping to meet a local minister but unfortunately she was too busy. Our tour ended with a look at an original proclamation . We would recommend this tour to all classes but unfortunately it is closing soon for a two year renovation project.

We recently started our 'Roots of Empathy' classes with Margit. These pictures show baby Lottie's first visit , we are really looking forward to watching her grow up over the coming year. Lottie loves to laugh and wiggle, just like her big brother in our class , Bobby.

Bookmarks Project

Our class is back to work with a bang after Christmas with our exciting 'Bookmarks'project.. Last week we attended the launch at Trinity College . We got to see the famous 'Pollard' collection of children's book and we got a guided tour of the Book of Kells and the Long Room library. It is incredible to think that in about 6 weeks time, our own books will be on display in the library for everyone to see! Our project work kicks off for real this Wednesday when Catherine and Hannah come into school to help us write and illustrate our books .
