Trip to Leinster House
Last week our class went on a trip to Leinster House which is where all the important decisions of the country are made by the government. We were given a special guided tour by a nice usher called Padraig, he told us how Michael Collins bought the house for 10000 euro. We got to visit the Dail chamber and the beautiful Seanad room. We were hoping to meet a local minister but unfortunately she was too busy. Our tour ended with a look at an original proclamation . We would recommend this tour to all classes but unfortunately it is closing soon for a two year renovation project.

Jade beats the bleep test record !
Jade Kendrick in our class was both delighted and exhausted after he set a new school record of endurance in the bleep test .His record score was 19.3 and he is hoping to maybe even beat this in a month or so when we redo the test. He was closely followed by Chloe Matthews and Blathnaid Grant, well done to all who took part.
Bookmarks Project
Our class is back to work with a bang after Christmas with our exciting 'Bookmarks'project.. Last week we attended the launch at Trinity College . We got to see the famous 'Pollard' collection of children's book and we got a guided tour of the Book of Kells and the Long Room library. It is incredible to think that in about 6 weeks time, our own books will be on display in the library for everyone to see! Our project work kicks off for real this Wednesday when Catherine and Hannah come into school to help us write and illustrate our books .
